We understand this challenge and decided to take it on. North Bay Woman gave stylist Malia Anderson the monumental task of finding the perfect jean for eight readers of all body types and sizes. We asked volunteers to send photos of themselves to Malia who selected models of varying heights, shapes and sizes. She then went shopping with each of these women to find the "perfect" jean for them. Follow along with style expert Malia and read about her tips and suggestions to find the right look, cut and style for every body. By Malia Anderson Photos by Stuart Lirette As a wardrobe stylist I have yet to have a client come to me without a jean horror story. Even I don't like shopping for jeans. However, over the years I have developed a strategy that has taken some of the frustration out of the process. Here are my four tips that should make buying jeans bearable. 1. Don't shop in the morning. Your body is at its most relaxed and slimmest. By mid-afternoon you will end up with a pair of jeans you are hating. 2. Fit your problem areas first then figure out the rest. Jeans can always be altered to get a great fit. 3. The darker the wash the better. When jeans are overly distressed and faded they and will look and feel outdated quickly 4. Be careful of the stretch. Look for four way stretch which is less likely to be saggy at the end of the day. Everywhere you go this fall and winter you will see tassels. Add a tassel neck necklace to your accessory wardrobe this fall to be on trend. Leopard print is a neutral. Adding it to winter whites can spice up an outfit for partying or even work. Invest in the color of the season with a Mulberry pump perfect for the office or a party. *All shoes shown are provided by Gina's Shoe Boutique in Healdsburg.
