Fall 2014
HOUSE CORPORATION COMPLETES SUMMER PROJECTS
Alumni Advisors and Guest Speakers Needed
G
reetings, alumni! In an effort to make our entrance areas more
presentable, we installed a sprinkler system in the south and east
yards this summer. Seeding will be done in the fall and a beautiful
green lawn should greet us soon thereafter. The other major project
we focused on this summer was the installation of outside security
cameras in an attempt to safeguard the house, cars, and property
that have been vandalized in the past.
Other articles in this newsletter will spotlight the
success and activities, including good grades of
our young brothers and a new fundraising effort
to replace the dining room tables and chairs. I
hope you can help. With a full house, we are also
working to renovate the basement.
The last alumni meeting was on April 26. The format
was a bit different, with a morning business meeting
followed by a fun meal and a get-together at the Wheel.
We took up almost the entire establishment, and there were
many good discussions at the tables and on the porch. The business
meeting was devoted to reports by chapter officers and ideas on
how to create a great experience for our next pledge class. The
officers are dedicated to gathering and nurturing an outstanding
group of potential new members. I hear the pledge class is almost
filled with 34 men.
A big thank-you goes to alumni who have stepped forward to serve
on the House Corporation and Alumni Advisory Board (AAB).
The AAB is a pairing of alumni with chapter officers, and we are
looking for alumni to serve as advisors and a "brain trust" when
questions arise. Can we add your name to the list? Along those
lines, the officers are always looking for alumni to come speak to
members about their careers and life experiences. If interested,
contact Eminent Commander Landon Reisenberg '12,
Nu 2316, at landon808@gmail.com.
Plan to attend the next alumni meeting on Saturday,
September 27, which is KU Homecoming. As
usual, exact times will be determined by game
time. This would also be a great time to plan your
pledge class reunion! We will send a save the
date card for the spring 2015 meeting as soon as
details are set. For more information, contact Alumni
Relations Chairman Drue Benning '13, Nu 2347, at
d738b190@ku.edu.
See you in Lawrence on September 27.
