Our project was to complete the sprinkler system and included demolition of the dining room ceiling for the new pipes and replacement of the ceiling. Our contractors designed more efficient lighting in the dining room, as well as disguised the living room and foyer sprinkler system pipes with new crown molding. This is the final large project ($108,000) in the master plan the HCB identified as a priority nine years ago. This project was paid in part by the members' monthly building fund, and will be paid in total by the chapter's 2014-15 building fund assessment. In the past nine years we have completed a new roof; purchased a new boiler, range, water heater; installed air- conditioning, replacement windows and back doors; renovated the dining room, kitchen, and stairs; and replaced the hall carpeting. Another project was a formerly empty basement room. It is now the chapter meeting room with more than 100 wooden folding chairs and fresh paint. Now we will focus on reducing the construction loans. Thank you to all who made a donation to the HCB. We are pleased to welcome Erica Kaldenberg, Omega '02, as the new house corporation president and to introduce Joanie Calder as the new house director.
