RETAILOBSERVER.COM OCTOBER 2014 48 FELIX NUNEZ NAMED AS VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES, SAMSUNG CLIMATIC HOME PRODUCTS Nunez will utilize his appliance background and history with the Samsung brand to continue to strengthen Climatic Home Products' position as an industry expert providing outstanding service Climatic Home Products, an appliance sales and logistics leader head-quartered in the Southeast US, announced the advancement of one of its veteran team members, Felix Nunez. In his new role, Nunez will serve as Vice President of Sales, Samsung, overseeing the ongoing success and growth of the brand with the dealers who offer it. "Felix has proven himself time and again to be an invaluable member of the team," stated President, Doug Allen. "He has always taken his job and his responsibility to his dealer base the extra mile. His initiative, his impeccable care of the customer and his well- rounded understanding of the business make him ideal for this new role. He is going to help our sales team and the dealers find great profit and opportunity with the Samsung brand." Nunez has more than 16 years in the appliance distribution industry, 15 of which have been with Climatic. Within the company, he has had several positions as his experience and capability grew. Most recently he held a sales management position, allowing him to work closely with the sales team and dealer, while maintaining the big picture goals for everyone he represented. "The Samsung brand has continued to amaze and thrill the market place," said Nunez. "At Climatic Home Products, we have taken the responsibility of sharing their vision very seriously. The innovations, attention to detail and new product introductions are key features that help close the sale and allow us to win the last three feet. Nunez will continue to focus on developing the business and assist with relationships from the manufacturer to the Climatic team to the dealer base. He will also work with key team members to leverage the internal strategy that continues to evolve and builds upon Climatic Home Products' already strong planning, operational and logistics background. HAIER ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC NEW EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS Haier America announced the appointment of three key new business leaders. Gina Copeland joins Haier America as senior vice president, Air Quality; Sanjay Gupta as vice president product platform development, Major Appliances; and Paul Riley as vice president sales & marketing, Major Appliances. Copeland will be accountable for Haier's Air Quality business in the Americas. Well thought of in the industry, she has spent the majority of her career in strategic roles developing and executing high growth strategies. Most recently, she held the position of senior director, strategy & planning, for the Heating and Cooling division of Mitsubishi Electric. Copeland holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Physics from Spelman College, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. . Gupta will assume the role of product strategy officer for Major Appliances and be accountable for the development of the strategic plan and creation of product roadmaps for all appliance categories. An industry veteran, Gupta's blend of strategy and operations expertise has led to increasing levels of leadership throughout his career including the strategic planning, product innovation and business development activities for Whirlpool's global laundry appliances. Gupta holds a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow and a Bachelor of Technology from Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology. Riley will function as the Sales & Marketing lead for Major Appliances and be accountable for the creation and execution of the go to market strategy for all categories. Riley has held multiple sales & marketing roles of progressively increasing responsibility throughout his 15 year career with GE Appliances. Most recently, as Senior Brand and Product Line Marketing Manager, he led the efforts to redefine the Monogram brand through a Preferred Builder Program, Consumer Facing Rebate Program and brand distribution strategy.
