Staffreports REDBLUFF Avree Mulliner was named 2014 Miss Tehama County on Thursday at the Tehama Dis- trict Fair. Avree, 17, succeeds 2013 Miss Te- hama County Nicole Sauve, and is the daughter of Mark and Jennifer Mulliner of Corning. She attends Shasta College in the College Connection program through Corning Union High School,andplanstostudybusiness. Avree'sprogramon Thursday in- cluded a performance of the coun- try song "Long Black Veil" by Lefty Frizzell. The song also has been covered by Johnny Cash. Avree also delivered a speech abouthowcanceraffectseveryone's lives, and efforts like Relay for Life can be used to fight back against the diseases. Four contestants vied for the ti- tle of Miss Tehama County at the Miss Tehama County Scholarship Program. Krista Lucier, 21, was named Miss Tehama County First Alter- nate. She is the daughter of Julie Postma of Corning and aspires to be a kindergarten teacher. The Sunrise Rotary Club is offering Polaroid photos of fair goers atop a bull preserved by taxidermy in his full bucking glory. Photos are $5 each or you can take a photo using your own camera for $3. The bull is located on the Mid- way just north of the Red Bluff Kiwanis hamburger and hot dog stand. Hours for photos are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. This fundraiser by Red Bluff Sunrise Rotary supports local community service projects.
