Beta Sig More Competitive Than Ever A s we look forward to an exciting semester, the Alumni Chapter is evaluating past goals and setting new ones for the fall. Thanks to many generous donations from our alumni, we were able to accomplish many of the goals we set this past year, including renovating several areas in the Chapter House. The electrical wiring throughout the basement was completely redone to bring the system up to code and provide a safe living environment for the active members. Bedrooms on the second floor were given a facelift to welcome our four new freshman residents, and we completely renovated the living room and Moose Room on the first floor. With fresh coats of paint and a new, modern design, the living room will be designated as the John Hingst Memorial Living Room, and the Moose Room will be named the Rehmer- Barton Library, in honor of our long-time pastoral advisors, Rudy Rehmer and Jim Barton. Don't worry, the Moose will still be there, but now we are incorporating a conference table and lounge chairs to allow for group activities. All of these updates would not have been possible without the help of our new property managers, Trish and Mark Brown. They've been working hard since joining the Beta Chapter team and we could not be more thankful for their involvement. While we will always have challenges in meeting needs, setting priorities, and caring for an aging house, we can appreciate that we are able to work together as a team to raise funds, maintain the Chapter House, and express our appreciation for all the support from our alumni, parents, and friends. Alumni are welcome and encouraged to stop by the Chapter House anytime for a visit, and we look forward to seeing all of you at our Homecoming events on September 27. Keeping a house with more than 20 residents running in tip-top shape is no easy feat, but in the short amount of time Trish and Mark Brown have been serving as property managers at Beta Chapter, they have gone above and beyond to provide an attractive and safe home for the men of Beta Sig. Trish and Mark began working with Beta Chapter in 2011, after they were referred to Tom McKnight '10 by another Purdue Fraternity for their catering business. They have been working in Greek housing for six years, and enjoy helping chapters reach the potential they deserve. "We hope to help the Beta Sig Chapter at Purdue grow to reach capacity, to be a more fine- tuned, well-organized Chapter, and grow to be a success. We are very happy to be a part of Beta Sig and are looking forward to working with them for many years to come," the couple said. The Chapter is thrilled to welcome Trish and Mark. Everyone is already impressed by the quality of work that they provide, as well as the kindness and support they offer to all brothers of Beta Sig. The John Hingst Memorial Living Room
