A : That's widely believed, but it isn't the fact. Williams originated Mork in a "Happy Days" episode, and the character was such a sensation, ABC ordered "Mork & Mindy" almost immediately afterward. However, the actor-comedian had made several earlier home-screen appearances ... on "The Richard Pryor Show," a revival of "Laugh-In" and the "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" spinoff "America 2-Night," as well as an epi- sode of "Eight Is Enough." Q : It's good to see Sean Bean back on television in "Leg- ends." I know he played the villain in "GoldenEye," but wasn't he considered to play James Bond himself? — Scott Anthony, Buf- falo, N.Y. A : Reportedly, he was. The Bond producers apparently had seen his TV work in the "Sharpe" adven- tures and were sufficiently impressed to call him in when they were seeking a replacement for Timothy Dalton. Of course, they ended up picking Pierce Brosnan, who actually was going to be Bond instead of Dalton in "The Living Daylights" ... until, at the last minute, NBC exercised a clause that kept him on "Remington Steele." Bean clearly did something right in that room that day, though. The makers of "GoldenEye" still wanted him on board, so instead of making him Agent 007, they made him Agent 006 — Alec Trevelyan, who turned traitor and made things tough for Bond when he resurfaced years later, after supposedly having been killed on a mission for Her Majesty's Secret Service. Q : What happened to "24: Live Another Day"? — Pat Zoccali, Warren, Ohio A : It ran the number of episodes Fox ordered it for ... 12, as op- posed to the 24 that each season of the regular series lasted by necessity, since each year of the show repre- sented a 24-hour day in real time. The final episode of "Live Another Day" made a big time leap, so that the gist of the show playing out over a full day was retained. There's still talk of a "24" feature film, but Fox seemed pleased enough by the recent miniseries that we wouldn't rule out another television version. In the meantime, "24: Live Another Day" is slated to be released on home video Sept. 30 with what's being called a "story extension" of ad- ditional material. Q : When does the new sea- son of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." begin? — Mike Lewis, Milwaukee A : ABC launches Season 2 of the adventure Sept. 23. Expect a break about midway through the sea- son, with a new show about the Mar- vel character Agent Carter (played, as she has been in the "Captain America" movies, by Hayley Atwell) airing in the slot during that interim.
