Plum Crazy was hon- ored with a plaque and congratulations by cham- ber members as the June 2011 Business of the Month. Fitzgerald, and her husband Rick, opened the business, a hair salon and gift store, in June 2005. “I wanted to do some- thing fun and creative,” she said. Before Plum Crazy, she had worked reading utility meters for 16 years, she said. Now, the business employs five stylists and three sales associates. In the same fashion as Fitzgerald’s vocational makeover, she enjoys changing Plum Crazy regularly as well, she said. The Napa Val- ley Olive Oil Competition highlights the fair’s focus on the culinary bounty of the area and was open to all California producers of extra virgin and flavored olive oils. Lucero’s Three Star Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil won Best of Class; Se villano Extra Virgin Olive Oil, for less than $20. Always shopping for new and exciting items to add to the inventory, 50- year-old Fitzgerald loves to change up the store and switch things around every three to six months, she said. One of her favorite things to do is to find the perfect accessories to the perfect outfit, she said. “I love being every- one’s personal shopper,” Fitzgerald said. The Red Bluff Tehama Chamber of Commerce recognizes one business each month that is nomi- nated and chosen by committee for outstand- ing service to the com- munity.
