Outlander By Jay Bobbin © Zap2it Q : With the delay in production starting, will "The Big Bang Theory" begin when originally scheduled this fall? - Jim Stark, Columbus, Ohio A : At this writing, the sitcom is slated to start Season 8 as initially planned Sept. 22 on CBS. The one-week delay in getting started received a lot of attention because of the central cast members' contract renegotiations, which - as is widely known by now - ended up netting Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting an almost tripled salary increase, netting them each $1 million per episode for the next season and beyond. While not in that monetary ballpark, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar didn't fare badly, either. Q : My family has been watching "Longmire," but it seems this last season was so short. Has it been picked up so we'll have more of it? - Marilyn Skattum, Flagler Beach, Fla. A : A&E Network gave the third season the length that it always was intended to have, though its 10 episodes this last time was down from 13 the previous year. The ratings for its finale also were down from the past two years, but still were reasonably healthy for a basic-cable series. An official fourth- season renewal for the show hadn't come yet when this was written. Q : Would other "Glee" cast members like Matthew Mor- rison and Chris Colfer be on "Hollywood Game Night" if Jane Lynch wasn't the host? - Frank Jones, Antioch, Calif. A : It's entirely possible they might be, since the NBC show clearly recruits familiar faces as celebrity players ... but for any "Glee" regular who might want to play, it certainly doesn't hurt that Lynch is the host. Her byplay with those she's already worked with typically is fun, and it's likely a kick for fans of the Fox mu- sical-drama to see some of those actors together in another situation. You can bet that isn't lost on the "Game Night" producers, who in- clude Sean Hayes of "Will & Grace" fame. Q : Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember Dana Delany playing Charles Bronson's daughter in something. Am I right, or am I just dreaming it? - Charles Osborne, Pawtucket, R.I. A : You're right. It was a 1993 CBS movie called "Donato and Daughter" - and you can probably guess who played which title role. The characters were estranged father-and-daughter police detec- tives forced to work a case together, and the film actually was one of Bronson's last projects.
