Where is White Horse Mountain? Postmaster H. A. Martin of this city wants to know because he may have an interest in a mine there for which he had not the slightest inti- mation before Saturday af- ternoon when he received a telegram from George C. Manning of Oakland. The message read: "I understand you are in- terested in a mine at White Horse Mountain, and will you meet me there Sunday or Monday. I am leaving Oakland Saturday night." It was all news to the genial postmaster who saw vision of a rich mine in which he was interested and didn't know it. But the question that came upper- most to his mind was the location of White Horse Mountain. Martin imme- diately instituted quest for information on this point and scanned the maps without early success. — Aug. 30, 1924 90YEARSAGO... Does Postmaster Martin own mine?
