Pride in our Past
F
or over 85 years, our Florida Alpha Chapter has been at the heart of
Greek life at the University of Florida. With more than 3,000 initiates,
the Florida Alpha Chapter has influenced the lives of numerous men,
cultivating lasting friendships in the process. Many of our best college mem-
ories are linked to our SigEp experience.
While many of our alumni have gone on to successful and distinguished ca-
reers in business, engineering, technology, entertainment, medicine and count-
less other endeavors, the common bond of our brotherhood remains, along
with our shared principles of virtue, diligence and brotherly love. Most of us
can trace the roots of our success to one place: 5 Fraternity Row. Through
SigEp we not only learned the importance of friendship, knowledge, service,
morality, character, teamwork and excellence, but also acquired valuable lead-
ership skills, organizational skills, and social skills that serve us to this day.
Oftentimes, these traits have been integral to our personal success and shaped
us into the men we are today.
Serving as a home away from home, our Chapter House is the focus of under-
graduate life for Florida Alpha. It is where we learned to live out our commit-
ment to sound mind and sound body. From our founding to the present, our
proud history speaks for itself through high academic achievement, athletic ac-
complishments and leadership within the University. We must continue to be a
leader and set the standard for all UF fraternities to improve their facilities.
If we wish for SigEp to continue attracting UF's best and brightest men, we
must ensure that we are providing a safe, modern, and competitive facility.
Now is the time to build the foundation for our future.
