Gamma Phi Bama 2 Exciting Spring Semester at Gamma Phi Beta Sisters Enjoy Fall Recruitment Sisters show their GFB spirit on the quad. T he past few months were exciting! We were lucky enough to be visited by members of the International Council, and our whole chapter had a workshop with them. Several weeks later, we celebrated our 25th anniversary with a wonderful event hosted by the House Corporation Board, which our chapter members were thrilled to attend. Our parent's weekend and our second annual Gamma Phive K took place on the same weekend, and we were able to raise money for Girls on the Run and Camp Fire USA. We are looking forward to an equally exciting fall! Our Gamma Phive K was the chapter's second annual Crescent Classic under the same name. It was a very successful event with attendance from parents and other Greeks, benefitting Camp Fire USA and Girls on the Run with a small portion being sent to the Foundation. We are in the process of finalizing plans for a crawfish boil with two campus fraternities. One-third of the ticket proceeds will go to support our philanthropies as well. Co-Philanthropy Chairman Brittney McCormick '11 is inspired with how well things have been going this semester and is excited to continue working with other Greek organizations to advance our philanthropic mission. Fall 2013 recruitment was highly successful; we had the largest pledge class at Alabama. We are looking into extending the new member period to account for the fact that we have so many new members. We can't wait to see our hard work pay off in the fall and to meet the members of the fall 2014 pledge class. The 25th anniversary party for the founding of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter took place during the second weekend of February. The event, which occurred at The Cypress Inn restaurant, focused largely on alumnae appreciation and the new chapter house. The chapter members were very grateful to the alumnae for their support and thankful for the invitation to the event.
