On Saturday, Munoz — the Gerber-raised, 2001 Red Bluff High School graduate — re- leased his latest album, "Only You." It's a collection of Eng- lish translations of hits from around the world, original work and covers with a twist. "La Bamba," for instance, is in- fused with a little bit of coun- try. And "Yellow Camaro," an upbeat 2012 chart-topper in Brazil, gets the English treat- ment from Munoz. "Nerve-racking, honestly," Munoz said of release day, donning a cowboy hat and red jumpsuit as he sat in a dressing room Saturday at the Tehama District Fairground, where he chose to celebrate his album release with his home-county supporters. "I've done this in L.A., like with my first album and everything, and I wanted to come home." Munoz 10 years ago chose to follow a dream; a dream he said was criticized by people who didn't dream; a dream he said that led him to stop work- ing for someone else three years ago. A dream that Mu- noz, whose iPhone background photo is the Grammy Award gramophone trophy, contin- ues to work on. Now, he wants children in Tehama County to dream like he did.
