Thefollowingdefendants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Tehama County District Attorney's Office: RecentState/Local Prison Commitments: People vs. Jason Lee Horner, Possession of a Controlled Substance; Pos- session For Sale of a Con- trolled Substance; Posses- sion of Marijuana For Sale; Failure to Appear on Own Recognizance; Failure to Appear on Own Recogni- zance; Possession of a Billy, Blackjack, etc. Brief history: Defendant was originally granted for- mal probation on all cases. Defendant violated his pro- bation when he tested posi- tive for methamphetamine, failed to attend a treatment program as ordered and failed to appear in court. An officer contacted defen- dant for riding a bicycle at night without proper light- ing. The officer was advised the defendant had warrants out for his arrest and was subsequently taken into custody. Inside defendant's backpack the officer located a metal club. Sentenced to 6 years 4 months Local Prison. People vs. David Rob- ert Fleckenstein, Posses- sion of a Controlled Sub- stance with Special Allega- tion Prior Felonies. Brief history: An officer contacted defendant and found him in possession of heroin. Sentenced to 6 years Lo- cal Prison. People vs. Eli William Gosnell, Transportation of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana For Sale; Failure to Appear While on Bail. Brief history: Defendant was originally granted formal probation. Defen- dant violated his probation when he tested positive for alcohol and marijuana and failed to report to complete his jail term. Defendant was released from custody and failed to appear in court as ordered. Sentenced to 3 years 8 months Local Prison. People vs. Michael Leroy Black, Transportation of Marijuana, Possession of Firearm by a Felon-Priors. Brief history: A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by de- fendant. Upon contacting the defendant the deputy observed the odor of mar- ijuana emitting from the ve- hicle. Inside the vehicle the officer located marijuana and a .22 caliber rifle. Sentenced to 3 years State Prison. People vs. Daniel Barra- gan, Possession of a Con- trolled Substance; Posses- sion of a Controlled Sub- stance; Failure to Appear on Own Recognizance. Brief history: An offi- cer contacted defendant regarding an outstanding warrant. The officer con- ducted a search and lo- cated methamphetamine in defendant's pocket. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by defendant. The officer ob- served the defendant to be acting suspicious and ob- served an object inside his mouth. The defendant even- tually released the object in his mouth which the officer determined to be a bindle of methamphetamine. Defen- dant was released from cus- tody and failed to appear in court as ordered. Sentenced to 2 years 8 months Local Prison. People vs. Ramiro Guil- len Ruiz, Assault With a Deadly Weapon. Brief history: Defendant and victim got into an al- tercation. During the alter- cation the defendant pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the stomach. De- fendant fled the scene but was located a short time later and taken into cus- tody. Sentenced to 2 years State Prison. People vs. Robert John Williamson Jr., Grand Theft of Personal Property; False Personation. Brief history: Defendant was originally granted for- mal probation. Defendant violated his probation as a result of his violation in NCR90735. Defendant was issued a citation at which time he provided a false name to the officer. Sentenced to 2 years Lo- cal Prison. People vs. Lawrence Dale Twiford, Failure to Register. Brief history: Defendant is a convicted sex offender and failed to register after moving to a new address. Sentenced to 16 months State Prison Recent County Jail Commitments: People vs. Douglas Earl Hogan, Unlawful Firearm Activity; Assault With a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Threats. Brief history: Defendant was originally granted for- mal probation. Defendant violated his probation when he was arrested for assault, criminal threats, burglary and resisting arrest. De- fendant and the victim were arguing when the defen- dant threatened to kill the victim, swung a machete towards the victim causing cuts to her hand, punched the victim and locked her in a room refusing to let her leave. Sentenced to 1 year County Jail. People vs. Gabrial Luiz Trevino, Possession For Sale of a Controlled Substance; Possession For Sale of a Controlled Substance with Special Allegation Offense While on Bail or O.R. Brief history: A deputy contacted defendant for riding a bicycle without proper lighting. The dep- uty conducted a consent search and located meth- amphetamine, pay-owe sheets and cash inside de- fendant's backpack. An of- ficer contacted defendant and found him in posses- sion of methamphetamine. Sentenced to 305 days county jail. People vs. Chelsea Dani- elle Amanda Deuel, Unlaw- ful Driving or Taking of a Vehicle; Unlawful Driving or Taking of a Vehicle, Sale of a Controlled Substance. Brief history: Defendant was driving a stolen vehi- cle when she lost controlled and crashed into a power pole. Defendant was a pas- senger in victim's vehicle. When the victim exited the vehicle he left the vehicle running and the defendant inside. The defendant pro- ceeded to the driver's seat and fled the scene in the vic- tim's vehicle. (NCR87481)- The defendant sold meth- amphetamine to an under- cover officer. Sentenced to 300 days county jail. People vs. Kou Vang, Possession of Concentrated Cannabis. Brief history: An offi- cer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by de- fendant. Upon contacting the defendant the officer observed the odor of mar- ijuana emitting from the ve- hicle. The officer conducted a search of the vehicle and located several packages of marijuana. Sentenced to 270 days county jail. People vs. James Donald Procarione, Receiving Sto- len Property; Possession of a Controlled Substance; Failure to Appear On Own Recognizance. Brief history: Defendant attempted to cash a fraud- ulent check. An officer con- tacted defendant and was advised he had a warrant out for his arrest. The of- ficer conducted a search of defendant and located methamphetamine in his pocket. Defendant was re- leased from custody and failed to appear in court as ordered. Sentenced to 210 days county jail. People vs. Marcos Anto- nio Santana, Aid by Misrep- resentation-Over $400. Brief history: Defendant was receiving aid from the county and failed to report income received from other members of the household. Sentenced to 180 days county jail. People vs. James Joe Sauceda, Resisting Execu- tive Officer. Brief history: Officers responded to a residence regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival officers con- tacted defendant and was advised he had a warrant out for his arrest. As officer attempted to detain defen- dant he began to resist. Of- ficers deployed a Taser and were eventually able to get defendant into custody. Sentenced to 180 days county jail. People vs. Cassandra Lowanda Michelle Hudson, Calfresh or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Pro- gram Fraud. Brief history: Defendant was receiving aid from the county and failed to report all additional income she was receiving. This resulted in an overpayment of ap- proximately $7,323 that she was not entitled to receive. Sentenced to 180 days county jail. People vs. Rebekah Tay- lor, Child Abuse. Brief history: Deputies responded to a residence and contacted the defen- dant. Inside the home dep- uties located minor chil- dren along with marijuana throughout the residence. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. People vs. Brandon Glaunert, Possession of a Controlled Substance With Firearm. Brief history: Agents con- ducted a search warrant at defendant's residence and located heroin, concen- trated cannabis and a rifle. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. People vs. Justin Timo- thy Edwards, Second De- gree Burglary. Brief history: Defendant entered a local business and attempted to purchase items with several credit cards. When all the credit cards were declined the de- fendant fled the store with the unpaid items. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. People vs. Shanna Re- nee Gomez, Possession of a Controlled Substance With Firearm. Brief history: Defendant was a passenger in a vehi- cle that was stopped for a traffic violation. Defendant had a warrant out for her arrest and was taken into custody. Inside defendant's purse the officer located a handgun and methamphet- amine. Sentenced to 120 days county jail. Upcoming Court Dates -Trials, Preliminary Hearings (PX) & Pre Trial Conferences (PTC): People vs. Jessie Lee Ro- bison, Murder with Special Allegations Use of Deadly Weapon, Prior Felony, Prior Strike, Prior Serious Felony. Brief history: Defen- dant and victim had been fighting when the defen- dant pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. The vic- tim later died as a result of his injuries. Entry of Plea/Setting: July 29, at 8 a.m. in Depart- ment 3. People vs. Tyler Allen Burrone, Vehicular Man- slaughter, Involuntary Manslaughter. Brief history: Defen- dant was driving his ve- hicle down the highway and failed to notice that the victim's vehicle had stopped in front of him and was attempting to make a left turn. Defendant rear ended the victim's vehicle and forced it into the path of an oncoming semi truck. The five year old victim in- side the vehicle received fa- tal injuries as a result of the crash and the child's mother was seriously injured. Setting: Aug. 6, at 9 a.m. in Department 4 People vs. Roger Sandy Bounnhaseng, Alan Duane Doulphus Jr., Chase Alan Doulphus: Murder, special allegation felony murder, personal and intentional, use of a firearm, assault with a firearm, false impris- onment by violence, trans- portation of marijuana. Brief history: The defen- dants went to a residence that contained a marijuana grow. The defendants con- fronted the victim and two other men who were at the residence and ordered them to the ground at gunpoint. The defendants proceeded to tie up the vic- tim and the two men with zip ties and duct tape. The victim was able to free him- self and attempt to flee the residence but was shot sev- eral times by the armed de- fendants. The victim even- tually succumbed to his in- juries. Defendant's vehicle was located a short time later and a vehicle pursuit followed. Defendant's were eventually apprehended and taken into custody. In- side the vehicle officers lo- cated a large amount of marijuana. PTC: Aug. 18, at 1:15 p.m. in Department 3. People vs. Christopher Hougland, Murder with Special Allegation Use of Deadly Weapon Brief history: Officers responded to a residence regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival officers lo- cated the victim who ap- peared to have several stab wounds and was bleeding profusely. The victim even- tually succumbed to his in- juries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The de- fendant was arrested and taken into custody. Sentencing: Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. in Department 2. People vs. Quentin Ray Bealer, Murder. Brief history: Defendant was arrested and charged with the murder of a 14 year old victim who had been re- ported missing when she never returned home from school. Officers located the victim's body two days later. Change of Venue Hear- ing: Aug. 27, at 9 a.m. in De- partment 1. People vs. Brandon Eric- son Branscombe, Murder, Assault on a Child Causing Death. Brief history: The 8 month old victim died as a result of injuries sustained while in the custody and care of defendant. PTC: Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. in Department 2.
