Power and Associ- ates. The company offers computer repair and upgrades, virus and spyware removal, computer diagnos- tics, surveillance systems, website hosting and graphic design, among other things. The committee chose this business because of the com- pany’s invaluable service to the county, said committee member Kristen Gray. There was also a popcorn vendor, a food ven- dor selling steak sandwiches, hotdogs and salads. There were also several craft vendors. We would like to see more produce and you can join us any time. Two bounce houses were set up for the kids as well as face painting. The Friends of the Library had books for sale out in front of the library and they also set a blanket on the lawn for chil- dren to sit and listen to stories read by volunteers. Like its peers, McClatchy has been hurt by a weak economy and a shift by advertisers to cheaper alter- natives on the Internet. The company’s advertis- ing revenue fell 9 percent in April and May. The decline was sharper, at 11 percent, during the first three months of 2011. The company said retail advertising improved because the Easter holiday came later this year. McClatchy, which is based in Sacramento, Calif., also said that its earlier offer to repurchase $65 million of its 2017 senior secured notes will expire on Friday. It plans to release its second- quarter results on July 28.
