Alumnae News Lou J. Moyer '49 taught in Kansas City, Mo., at Northeast High for 10 years then received her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1959. She then moved to DeKalb, Ill., and joined the faculty of Northern Illinois University in 1962. Lou received her Ph.D. at the University of Iowa in 1968, and retired from NIU in 1992. She has traveled extensively and has been to all U.S. states, 59 countries, and six continents. Lou lives in a duplex at a DeKalb area retirement center, where she is active in her church, volunteers at the local hospital, reads, and enjoys life. E-mail: ljmo@niu.edu Gene Hart '51 plans to move to Park City, Utah, to be near family after her husband, Gerry, passed away in April. She has six children, 21 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Gene is a member of Magee Women's Hospital Auxiliary and volunteers at their women and children's resale shop. For her 80th birthday she took a cruise to Alaska and looks forward to resuming more traveling. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pa. She volunteers with various activities and her seven grandchildren keep her busy, happy, and young at heart. Corrine lives in Plano, Texas. Marilyn Lucas '55 is still in communication with her pledge daughter, Carolyn Chappall Azevedo '56, of Missouri City, Texas, and other sisters in ACW. They talk, write, and see each other occasionally, most recently watching KSU basketball win against KU. She lives in Shawnee Mission, Kan. E-mail: grandmjoy1937@gmail.com Vera Riley '57 has served on the Kappa Chapter at the University of Wisconsin for 44 years and continues to be active with the chapter as it has been a wonderful experience for her. E-mail: verariley@aol.com Alice Armbrust '58 is a counselor at the Shepard's Crossing helping people with their budgets, works at First Presbyterian food pantry, and is the emcee at First Presbyterian adult fellowship. She is active in P.E.O. sisterhood and Daughters of the American Revolution, plays bridge, and loves to read. Her home in Manhattan, Kan., was on the McCain Home Christmas Tour in 2009 and Manhattan magazine in 2010. Jean E. Reehling '59 wrote a mini-book on financial investing on God's way in 2007. It gave her financial background and is sold in her church's bookstore. A small group of ladies comes to her house each month where they discuss investing. Jean lives in Tulsa, Okla. She works part time at a quilting shop, Prairie Point, working in a variety of capacities including teaching quilting classes. Linda lives in Shawnee, Kan. Marcia spends time traveling with her husband, Mark, playing bridge, knitting, reading, and entertaining friends. She loves to cook, and enjoys her dog and cat and retirement. They have three sons: Kyle, who received a BS in architectural engineering in 2014, and was the speaker of student government association; Zachary, a junior studying chemistry at KU; and David, who plans to attend KSU in fall 2015.
