Hey, kids! Are you looking for
something fun, active and adventurous
to do after school? Fort Bragg Child,
Youth and School Services has the an-
swer for you. The new EDGE! program
offers out-of-school opportunities for
children and youth (grades 1-12) to
experience, develop, grow and excel by
participating in cutting edge art, fitness,
life skills and adventure activities.
Art EDGE! promotes learning-by-
doing and focuses on the development
of lifetime skills through exposure to
the arts. Art EDGE! activities increase
creative development while building
self-esteem.
Fit EDGE! educates and encour-
ages children and youth to incorporate
a healthier lifestyle through physical
activity and nutritional awareness pro-
grams.
Life EDGE! imparts upon children
and youth the skills needed for life-long
growth as well as the exploration of fu-
ture career fields.
Adventure EDGE! encourages
children and youth to embrace the out-
doors and nature while being exposed
to activities that stimulate relaxation.
For the month of October,
EDGE! participants will take part in
Introduction to Golf, GI Splat and GI
Brats. Introduction to Golf will help
participants learn the basics of the sport
from chipping and putting to whether
to use an iron or a wood club. In GI
Splat, participants start by learning that
safety always comes first in paintball
and finish with learning about Hanging
the Flag to win a game. GI Brats is
comprised of a variety of activities to
include horseback riding, mountain
biking and more.
