8B Daily News – Saturday, May 28, 2011 COURT ROUND-UP The following defendants were sentenced in Tehama County Superi- or Court, according to the Tehama County District Attorney’s Office: —————— for false imprisonment by violence, special allegation- prior strike. Olsen and victim had been in an argument that escalated into a phys- ical altercation. Olsen pushed victim to the floor, punched her in the face and threatened to kill her if she left the residence. • Phillip Norman McDonald was sentenced to four years in state prison for corporal injury to spouse. Officers responded to a residence regarding a possible domestic dis- turbance. Upon arrival officers were advised McDonald had been drink- ing and became violent. McDonald began strangling and beating the vic- tim. The victim attempted to escape when McDonald followed her and pinned her down on the bed and continued to strangle her. McDonald fled the residence before officers arrived. • Alan Dale Kocourek Sr., was sentenced to three years in state prison Recent State Prison Commitments • David Edward Olsen, Jr., was sentenced to six years in state prison for driving while having a 0.08 percent or higher blood alcohol An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Kocourek. Upon contacting Kocourek the officer noticed Kocourek was displaying signs of intoxication. After failing the field sobriety tests Kocourek was taken into custody. • Erica Dawn Hency was sentenced to three years and eight months in state prison for second degree commercial burglary, bring drugs into jail. Hency was contacted by deputies after it was reported she had just stolen an item from a grocery store. A review of the surveillance video revealed Hency had entered the store, grabbed an item from the shelf, placed it under her shirt and exited the store without paying for the item. (NCR81033)-An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Hency after her vehicle was observed drifting off the side of the road near two deputies who were dealing with a separate traffic matter. Hency was contacted and taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. While in the jail a deputy conducted a strip search of Hency and located marijuana. • Brandon Bear Allen was sentenced to two years in state prison for unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle. Deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon investigating the incident it was determined that Allen had a physical altercation with the victim at which point Allen obtained the victim’s car keys without per- mission and left the residence in the victim’s vehicle. Recent County Jail Commitments • Jake Richard Hardwick was sentenced to 180 days in Tehama Coun- ty Jail for second degree commercial burglary. Hardwick was observed entering a grocery store, grabbing items from the shelf and exiting the store without paying for the items. • James Edward Hager was sentenced to 270 days in Tehama County Jail for meeting minor for lewd purposes. Hager was originally granted formal probation. He violated his proba- tion when a probation search of his home revealed firearms and ammu- nition. Hager also failed to participate and complete a sex offender treat- ment program as ordered. • Michael Mathew Jenson was sentenced to 270 days in Tehama County Jail for possession of marijuana for sale. Jenson was contacted outside a local bar attempting to sell marijuana to people walking by. The officers conducted a search of Jenson and located a plastic bag inside his pocket containing marijuana. • Wesley Marshall Standridge was sentenced to 270 days in Tehama County Jail for sale of a controlled substance, possession for sale of a con- trolled substance. Standridge was originally granted formal probation on both cases. Standridge violated his probation when he tested positive for metham- phetamine. • Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez was sentenced to 270 days in Tehama County Jail for four counts of sending harmful matter. Deputies contacted Rodriguez after they were advised he had used his cell phone to send sexually explicit material to four victims who were under the age of eighteen. • Kenneth Lloyd Ralston was sentenced to 120 days in Tehama Coun- ty Jail for possession for sale of a controlled substance, possession for sale of a controlled substance. Agents served a search warrant at Ralston’s residence and located methamphetamine pipes, methamphetamine, packaging material, scales, marijuana and several hydrocodone and Norco pills. • Jesse Dale Molarius was sentenced to 60 days in Tehama County Jail for second degree commercial burglary. Molarius was observed entering a grocery store, grabbing items from the shelf and then exiting the store without paying for the items. • Lance Elton Ward was sentenced to 60 days in Tehama County Jail for aid by misrepresentation-over $400. Ward was receiving welfare aid while at the same time he was also receiving rental income. Ward received an overpayment of about $483. Recent Proposition 36 Commitments Note: terms of Proposition 36 are not at the request of the Tehama County Dis- trict Attorney’s Office. Per the requirements of Proposition 36, a defen- dant who possesses drugs cannot be sentenced to confinement time in jail or prison. Instead, the court must place defendant on probation and require drug treatment alone. Per the requirements of Proposition 36, only upon a third drug related probation violation may the court impose con- finement time. In the event the defendant violates a non-drug related term of probation the court may then elect to sentence defendant to jail or prison. Deputies were further advised that during the incident the victim was able to pull herself away from Ogier and get to a window to yell for help. Officer responded to the scene of a hit and run. Upon arrival officers were advised by several witnesses that Rodriguez had taken off in his vehicle and hit a parked car. Rodriguez continued driving across town and failed to stop for the victim who was walking her bike in a crosswalk. Rodriguez hit the victim with his vehicle and again fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital where she died hours later.
