In Memoriam
Luther B. Augustson '53 entered Chapter
Eternal on June 6, 2013. During WWII, he
served on the U.S.S. Cabildo. Afterward,
he moved to Tulare to live with his cousin,
Ruby Glad, and her husband, Albert, where
he worked for the city water department as a
surveyor and drove a school bus for Tulare
High School District while attending College
of The Sequoias. It was in Tulare where he met
his future wife, Joy Vaugn, whom he married in
August of 1951. Luke continued his education
at the School of Mines, where he obtained
his bachelor's degree. Upon graduation, he
accepted a job in the engineering department
for Tulare County.

Alumni Work Days
Saturday, June 7
Eight brothers and one "sister", Janna, came to
the house this Saturday to conduct a complete
inventory of household items supplied by the
Alumni Corporation. Missing items will be
ordered and broken items repaired. The Chapter
will reimburse the Alumni Corporation for these.
Additionally, your Alumni Board has a summer
work list of some $30,000 worth of improvements
over and above the inventory replacements.
Saturday, August 9 • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The first arrivals are the football players and
we have several. Right on their heels come the
members and our Sigma class starts "O" Week
on the 16th. On this work day, we will ensure
that each member room has its full complement
of bunks, mattresses, dressers, wardrobes, shelves
and desks located in a welcoming arrangement
atop freshly waxed floors. When we leave the
house on this day, you will be filled with pride as
we not only keep our commitment but advance it.
The SigEp house will be BETTER THAN NEW
on this day. Sign up for this pride-filled day with
your brothers.
4th of July Event
Friday, July 4 • 7 p.m.
Mike Kearney's House
326 Sugar Creek Road, Kirkwood, Mo.
Come enjoy good times with your brothers,
good food (Saliccia from the Hill and ribs

Congratulations, Graduates
