Augustson '53 entered Chapter Eternal on June 6, 2013. During WWII, he served on the U.S.S. Cabildo. Afterward, he moved to Tulare to live with his cousin, Ruby Glad, and her husband, Albert, where he worked for the city water department as a surveyor and drove a school bus for Tulare High School District while attending College of The Sequoias. It was in Tulare where he met his future wife, Joy Vaugn, whom he married in August of 1951. Luke continued his education at the School of Mines, where he obtained his bachelor's degree. Alumni Work Days Saturday, June 7 Eight brothers and one "sister", Janna, came to the house this Saturday to conduct a complete inventory of household items supplied by the Alumni Corporation. Missing items will be ordered and broken items repaired. The Chapter will reimburse the Alumni Corporation for these. Additionally, your Alumni Board has a summer work list of some $30,000 worth of improvements over and above the inventory replacements. Saturday, August 9 • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first arrivals are the football players and we have several. Right on their heels come the members and our Sigma class starts "O" Week on the 16th. On this work day, we will ensure that each member room has its full complement of bunks, mattresses, dressers, wardrobes, shelves and desks located in a welcoming arrangement atop freshly waxed floors. When we leave the house on this day, you will be filled with pride as we not only keep our commitment but advance it. The SigEp house will be BETTER THAN NEW on this day. Sign up for this pride-filled day with your brothers. 4th of July Event Friday, July 4 • 7 p.m. Mike Kearney's House 326 Sugar Creek Road, Kirkwood, Mo.
