The Daily News will relocate to a smaller build- ing elsewhere in the city, said Publisher Greg Ste- vens. The Daily News is not alone in this type of re- location to a smaller footprint. Several of Digital First Media's other northern California properties will follow suit or have already. "(The) focus is mostly on those operations that are rattling round in an old-school newspaper pro- duction building as we are, with facilities better suited for the days when we printed and inserted on site, had a larger staff, etc.," Stevens said in an email to employees. Benson, 29, pleaded guilty to one felony count of depri- vation of rights under color of law. According to the factual basis in a plea agreement filed with the court Friday, Benson transported the vic- tim to the Shasta County Jail after she was arrested for driving under the influence on May 29, 2010. Before arriv- ing at the jail, Benson pulled into a parking lot. There, he falsely reported by police ra- dio to dispatch that he had ar- rived at the jail when, in fact, he had not. "We may be facing new experiences next year, but whenever we feel like we can't go on we can pull out our Disney movies and find some inspiration to keep go- ing," graduate and salutato- rian Julia Misslin said in a speech delivered with the help of graduate Michelle Jaramillo. "As Russell from 'Up' said, 'The wilderness must be explored, so let's go ex- plore,'" Jaramillo said. Misslin's and Jaramil- lo's speech, delivered be- fore an audience of well- wishers and parents at the State Theatre for the Arts, touched on themes of let- ting go, never giving up and having no worries. Jeremiah Paul Ray Setzer was charged with two counts of placing a false bomb, each with a spe- cial allegation of a previous felony. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of seven years, eight months, according to a press release issued late Friday by the Tehama County District Attor- ney's Office. A resident walked to the Red Bluff Police Depart- ment the morning of April 28 with a device that ap- peared to be a bomb, saying it was found in front of one of the court house buildings. The suspicious de- vice appeared to be a pipe bomb and was secured. About an hour later, a second suspicious looking device was found outside the Tehama County Su- perior Court, Department 3, but a Tehama County Sheriff's Deputy.
