The Squirrel's Nest 2 were distributed in more than 200 stores, including Bloomingdales, and sold through media channels like Shop NBC. From there she began volunteering for Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that helps women in need dress professionally for job interviews and more. "It was so enlightening to put women, many whom had never worn a suit before, in professional clothing and see the transformation. It was inspiring to see the joy on their faces." Through her experience with Dress for Success, Lisa realized how much women could benefit from her styling services, so she diversified her company to include life and style coaching, creating Tallula Tate Life & Style. She is also a certified style consultant for Stacy London's (of TV's What Not to Wear) Style for Hire Network. Today, Lisa travels across the South working with women and men of all ages, styling them for success through life's major transitions, including college, recruitment, post-college, interviewing and entering the business world. She has dressed debutantes, university presidents, CEOs, politicians, and high-profile attorneys. She also speaks professionally at universities, corporate events, associations, and women's groups. Lisa has spoken at sorority houses to help undergraduate women understand the importance of dressing professionally and appropriately. She also dressed the Alabama Homecoming queen for the last two years, including Lissa Handley Tyson '10, the Alpha Gamma Delta winner in 2012. Through all of her success, Lisa acknowledges the role Alpha Gamma Delta has played. "The social network I have through Alpha Gamma Delta is indispensable. Being able to call a sister any time and know they will be there is wonderful." She and a close group of sisters, all with college-aged children, have stayed in touch since graduating through an annual beach weekend. She enjoys talking to them about their shared experiences and helping their children and others with recruitment. Lisa and her husband, Michael, live in Atlanta, Georgia, and have one daughter, Julia. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, and traveling. Alumna Teaches Women and Men of All Ages What Not to Wear (Continued from page 1) T he last semester has been an incredible time of growth, challenge, and excitement for Psi Chapter. Members have been readily busy in a variety of activities as they seek the best for themselves and for the chapter. For the fall 2013 semester, Alpha Gamma Delta ranked third in grades on campus behind Alpha Chi Omega and Chi Omega. Our house GPA was 3.49, one of the highest in recent semesters. That is well above the all-sorority average of 3.30. According to Vice President of Scholarship Anne Pell '12, "Actives in Alpha Gam worked very diligent last semester, and it has been very encouraging to see that work pay off by our overall GPA". Last semester, we continued participate with 5th Quarter Initiative, a wonderful program we implemented with Phi Gamma Delta to package food from leftover athletic events and distributed each week at the West Alabama Food Bank. We donated 13,352 pounds of food during the football season, and we are eager to continue that hard work into basketball and gymnastic seasons. It has easily become one of the most treasured programs our sorority is involved with. We also had the privilege of working with Magic Moments, a local philanthropy that raises money to send children with chronic, life-threatening illnesses on the trip of their dreams. We have raised enough money over the last two years to provide two children with trips to Disney World. This year, we held a reveal at Alpha Gamma Delta for a young girl battling a debilitating disease. Active members dressed as various Disney characters and sang songs to her. It was one of the sweetest moments to witness for many girls in the house. The chapter was excited to participate in the continuous open bidding process, which helped Alpha Gamma Delta recruit the best girls on our campus year round. In November, we initiated 117 active members into our chapter, which was our largest and most esteemed pledge class to date. We have loved seeing them dive into Alpha Gam life and represent us well on campus. The last few weeks of the semester were spent saying goodbye to our incredible seniors who dedicated so much time, effort, and love into our house. We are eager to see where they go over the next few years as they continue to represent Alpha Gam well. As we look into look to the fall semester and with recruitment around the corner, we are busy working hard, preparing for a new pledge class to arrive who we are certain will only add to the esteem of Psi Chapter.
