SEPTEMBER 30 - OCTOBER 6, 2009 UCW 23 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM Business Profile: Hamburger Heaven by STEPHANIE CRIDER STEPHANIE CRIDER, Staff Writer COMMENTS? 484-6200 ext. 222 or Stephanie@upandcomingweekly.com For burger connoisseurs, it is always a joy to bite into one and be able to describe it as heavenly. Since 2006, that has been the goal of Hamburger Heaven — delivering divine burgers with a smile. Located at 132 Person St., this eating establishment has really made a name for itself as a family friendly place that serves up good grub. The menu offers not only burgers but appetizers, salads and sandwiches, too. Their signature dish is the Carolina Favorite. What carnivore wouldn't love some fresh, hand-pattied goodness topped with slaw, chili and onions? And there's more where that comes from. "All the burgers....everybody loves those," said owner Kevin Dennison, "but the Carolina Burger Favorite is a favorite with chili, slaw and onions — and the mushroom and swiss burger, and the turkey club....we have a lot of good things on the menu...our golden wings...people love those, too". When they purchased the business in 2008, Dennison and his wife Simone were new to the restaurant business, but saw it as an opportunity that they couldn't pass up. "I have sno-ball shops around here...Carolina Sno-balls," said Dennison. "I was doing that and had someone approach me about the one (Hamburger Heaven) downtown. Me and my wife talked about it and prayed about it and the opportunity just seemed right. I'm not a restaurant business veteran, but I am a quick learner and always willing to learn — and a hard worker." With a focus on quality food and friendly service, the restaurant is doing well. "Number one is the customer — whether you are talking about sno- balls or burgers," said Dennison. "It's customer service, the way you treat your customers. The employees downtown are very good. The customer service is very good." Apparently they've done something right because business is bustling downtown and opportunity is knocking on their door again — and they are answering again. Look for the new Hope Mills Hamburger Heaven to open in the coming weeks at the corner of Hope Mills Road and George Owen Road. Dennison doesn't have an exact date, but he expects to have the new restaurant open for business in October sometime. " We'll have the same menu, the same good service and fresh hand-pat- tied burgers,"said Dennison. "My goal is to make sure it is a place where you can come in and get good food and bring your friends and family and have great conversations." The Person Street location is open Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ) '# "% "%'#(. &"$ (! *!1 ," *6:3(,) !"79"" 1"!!"!"!!"!",)"! ,(*!"""!"#(",$!1 %) "&("" ,'"" /)!"! 1* "!"!)"!!"
