Gamma Phi Beta Gamma Phis support the Children's Miracle Network at UNL's Dance Marathon H ello, everyone! I am honored to be serving as the 2014 president of Pi Chapter and am a junior from Lincoln majoring in nutrition science. I have loved working with the executive team thus far and am incredibly thankful for and impressed by the leadership and dedication each member has. This semester has been a busy one for us at Pi. It seems like we just started our semester but are now focusing on wrapping up and heading home for summer. We hosted our annual French Toast Feed and raised nearly $6,000 for our local Girls On the Run. Thank you to all who came out to support us. We look forward to seeing many of you this November at our centennial celebration. Our sisters achieved some great feats in the past few months. Pi Chapter earned the third top GPA on campus this past fall with a 3.497. We are so proud of our sisters for consistently living out our value of learning. In addition, we had several members selected to serve as members of senior honors societies. Cassie McKay '12, Liz ripa '11, and I all were tapped into Mortar Board, and Jena Gangwish '12 and Melissa Bakewell '11 were inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa. In addition, Kaity Neuberger '11, Liz Ripa, elizabeth Wiest '12, and I were all selected as members of the Greek honors society, Order of Omega. Hannah Schinkel '11 is the president of FOCUSGreek, Kaity Neuberger '11 will serve as a vice president for Dance Marathon, and Melissa Bakewell and Lauren Greufe '12 are serving on the Panhellenic executive team. If you didn't quite believe how incredible our sisters are, I am proud to announce that Pi Chapter has regained the Scarlet Cup for the 2013-14 school year. The Scarlet Cup recognizes one chapter on campus for their outstanding academics, involvement, and leadership, and I must say, the women of Pi Chapter deserve this award! Our fearless membership vice president, Annie McKeighan '11, has begun planning for formal recruitment this fall. We are very excited to see all of her hard work put into effect this August. If there are any young women you would like to recommend for membership, please send letters to Annie at 415 N. 16th St., Lincoln, NE 68508. We are continually reminded of how fortunate we are to have active alumnae who model what lifelong membership in Gamma Phi Beta means. Please feel free to contact me or visit the chapter house any time. We are always happy to give tours of our home and give updates on the happenings of Pi Chapter.
