"James started playing base- ball at just 4 years old — on a team on which the next youngest player was 8," the magazine said. James also was a 2013 Junior Giants Willie Mac Award win- ner, an annual honor awarded to a player by his teammates. The award is "presented to players and coaches who best ex- emplify the Junior Giants' Four Bases of Character Development: Confidence, integrity, leadership and teamwork." James' favorite player is Buster Posey, and his favorite team, fit- tingly, is the San Francisco Gi- ants, for whom he hopes to play some day. The new water rules come about from Gov. Jerry Brown's drought relief package signed March 1. The emergency regulations could kick in if minimum flows at the creeks don't meet the needs of migrating Chinook salmon and Central Valley steelhead, listed as state and federally protected spe- cies. "State scientists refer to these minimum flows as 'belly scraping' flows because they ensure that enough water is flowing so that the fish can make it over the cobbles WATER State adopts emergency regulations for area creeks Looking for 2009-2013 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab By Rich Greene rgreene@redbluffdailynews.com @richgreenenews on Twitter RED BLUFF The Tehama County Sheriff's Department labeled a ve- hicle and its suspected driver as "of interest" in its case to find the shooter in a robbery turned ho- micide last week on a hiking trail off of State Route 36E.
