Walker Dodero followed with a deep fly out that al- lowed Pritchard to tag and move to third. A bobbled relay throw in from the outfield allowed Pritchard to then score and cut the game to 2-1. It stayed that way un- til the seventh inning when it was Pritchard who was called into take over the pitching duties from Mar- tin. With a runner in scoring position Pritchard hung an 0-2 pitch that Carel got a hold of and doubled in what would prove to be not just an insurance run, but the game winner. Red Bluff dropped to 21-8 on the season. Shasta improved to 19-8. The Northern Section's baseball seeding meeting is scheduled for Wednesday morning. YREKA17,CORNING0 The Cardinals were shut out on the road Friday in their sea- son finale in five innings. Corning finished the reg- ular season 8-14 and 4-8 in Northern Athletic League play. Alvarado won the 100 meters in 11.77 seconds, the 200 meters in 23.04 seconds as well as the long jump (18'9.5). The Cardinals went 1-2-3 in the pole vault. Justin Slimick cleared 11 feet, 6 inches, Matthew Slimick cleared 11 feet and Brandon McGhee was third at 10 feet. Rogelio Silva won the 3200 meters in 11:07.9 and was third in the 1600 meters (4:57.62). Miguel Rios placed fourth in the 1600 (5:01.55). Thomas Lowe won the shot put (52-6.5) and An- thony Peter was third (44- 7). Alan Rodriguez, Erik Rios, Silva and Miguel Rios were second in the 4x400 relay (4:06). In the 400 meters Ro- driguez was second (58.81) and Cody Hiller was third (1:08.09). Hiller placed third in the triple jump (36'11). In the girls events Grace Mora won the high jump and pole vault. Mora's high jump was 4 feet, 10 inches and she cleared 7 feet in the pole vault. The Lady Cardinals went 1-2 in the 400 meters as An- nber Slye turned in a time of 1:20.06 and Leonor Reyes placed second at 1:21.56. Heather Hogan was third in the shot put (40-4.5). The Cardinals compete May 16 at the Northern Athletic League champi- onships.
