She earned a degree in education from KU, where she met her husband, Charles "Bud" Salanski. They moved to St. Joseph, Mo., in 1957 where Margaret became deeply involved in the community. She was active in Chapter BP of PEO, holding nearly all offices, and was honored as a Golden Girl for 50 years of membership. She was a member of the Heartland Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, where she earned the designation of emeritus member. She was active in the Auxiliary's Cattle Baron's Ball and was instrumental in the growth of the hospital gift shop. She was a life service elder at Wyatt Park Christian Church and served on the boards at both the YWCA and YMCA where she was most known for her work on their annual fundraising campaigns. Margaret was also a lover of the arts, supporting both the symphony and art gallery. Margaret's ultimate joy was her family, with whom she enjoyed many KU sporting events. She is survived by Bud; their children: Stephen, Kim, and Pam; and five grandchildren. Alumnae News Ellie Lloyd Heath '04 lives in Lenexa, Kan., with her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Reagan Grace. She works for United Rotary Brush Corporation. She and her team will travel to 11 countries across four continents to serve and help others throughout the world. She has traveled to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Up next are Albania, Bulgaria, South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Much of the team's work is focused on helping women in the sex trafficking industry, ministering to children and adults, and providing labor to various projects.
