RETAILOBSERVER.COM MAY 2014 8 T he 13th edition of the Architectural Digest Home Design Show (ADHDS), March 20-23, was a captivating and vibrant confluence of luxury products and cutting-edge designs from over 300 exhibitors, including top-notch household names, as well as rising stars. Over 40,000 attendees from across the globe took to the aisles, discovering distinctive items for their projects, popping into the Jenn-Air Master Class Studio for exciting seminars sponsored by Architectural Digest and The New York Times, and shopping at the new "Shops at ADHDS" cash and carry section. Exhibitors noted the marked increase in attendance, including the remarkable 55% increase in trade, and encountered productive leads from discerning industry professional and consumer visitors alike. Jeff Petersen, director of sales, comments, "There was a palpable energy at the show, which I think was very much powered by our outstanding exhibitors. They came to the Pier enthusiastic and "on-point," not merely displaying their latest and greatest products, but really representing their brands and engaging with attendees. We are excited that many will be returning for next year." Director of Marketing, Michael J. Rabatin agrees that the exhibitors helped to set the tone for a superlative show, adding, "From the innovative exhibitor offerings, to the timely seminars led by the who's who of the architectural and design industry, to our partnership and co-location with DIFFA (Dining by Design), ADHDS has succeeded in creating a special experience, which has become something of a hallmark. Unlike any other in the tradeshow world, it's an exceptional, well-rounded and immersive event." Susan McCullough, MMPI senior vice president, continues, "The Architectural Digest Home Design Show is more than just a tradeshow. It is a comprehensive, yet curated, boutique-feeling celebration of design. We are so thankful to our exhibitors, sponsors, attendees and entire MMPI team for making this year's show such a great success. We can't wait for 2015." 1 3 T H A N N U A L ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST HOME DESIGN SHOW A N I N S P I R AT I O N A L TO U R D E FORCE
