Come out and show your support for the runners by cheering them on. The event will starts at 6:30 in the morning in downtown Fayetteville at Festival Park. Racers will wind their way through the heart of historic downtown Fayetteville past the Market House, the N.C. Veterans Park and the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, The runners will continue onto Morganton Road and the All-American Expressway before running into Fort Bragg. Nominations Being Accepted for Community Appearance Awards Program The City-County Joint Appearance Commission is accepting nominations for the Community Appearance Awards Program, which recognizes properties in Fayetteville and Cumberland County that are improving the appearance of the community. The City-County Joint Appearance Commission is made up of members from Cumberland County and the nine municipalities in Cumberland County, including Fayetteville. Nominations must be submitted by June 1. The commission will review all nominations and select award recipients, who will be honored at a summer awards ceremony. Nominations are being accepted in the following categories: • Best Existing Single-Family Residential Property • Best New Single-Family Residential Property • Best Existing Multi-Family Residential Property • Best New Multi-Family Residential Property • Best Existing Non-Residential Property • Best New Non-Residential Property • Best Revitalization of a Residential Property • Best Revitalization of a Non-Residential Property • Best Housing Development or Neighborhood • Best Residential Landscaping Project • Best Non-Residential Landscaping Project • Best Residential Green Project • Best Non-Residential Green Project • Best Restoration of a Historical Property • Best Neighborhood Entrance/Community Gateway To obtain a nomination form, call the City of Fayetteville Development Services Department at (910) 433-1612 and request that a form be mailed to you. Keep Fayetteville Clean Citizens are encouraged to sign up for the annual Fayetteville Beautiful Citywide Cleanup, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at 9 a.m. The event kickoff will be held at the MLK entrance at Ramsey Street. Fayetteville Beautiful works to reduce litter along Fayetteville's streets and roads and operates with a mission to encourage citizens to create and maintain a cleaner and more beautiful Fayetteville.
