Many showed interest in our chapter, and we received five great new members to join Sigma Kappa, each one of them special in her own way. For Bid Day we tried to bring the sun back to West Lafayette by having a "Fun in the Sun" theme. SiGma kaPPa on the moVe Bid Day gave us an opportunity to bond with all of our sisters, as well as the newest five members. This exciting event filled with festive, colorful, bright decorations also got everyone excited for spring break. This year we have collegians traveling all over the country and across the border. Some went to Texas, some to Florida, Colorado, and even Mexico. annUal PhilanthroPy raiSeS $2,000 For alZheimer'S Our annual SKetti Dinner was a success! The event held on March 11 earned close to $2,000 toward Alzheimer's research. Our new vice president of philanthropy, maggie malone '12, is doing a great job setting goals that will challenge us as a chapter but will also help raise more money than ever. chaPter oFFicer GoeS aboVe and beyond Maggie has taken philanthropy to a whole new level. We went to a local nursing home and visited Alzheimer's patients. This experience gave Beta Sigma a whole new perspective on what we are actually raising money for. We have another opportunity to go back and spend more time with them soon. Thanks to Maggie, we also participate in a program called Donor's Play. Each week all of our sisters download a game onto their phones and play it for only five minutes. If each sister participates each week, Sigma Kappa can raise up to $2,000! We hope you will be able to come back to Purdue soon and visit the house. Our door is always open and we love to see our alumnae and hear stories about your time in the chapter. In Sigma Kappa, brooke Sauer '12 Vice President of Alumnae Relations D
