As we embark upon upgrades for the formal living room, we discussed opportunities to procure artwork and accessories with symbolic references to Sigma Kappa. We're seeking the artistic talents from alumnae in the form of an artwork contest with $200 and a dedication plaque to be awarded to one lucky alumna during our Homecoming festivities. Do you remember the bean sofa? It still resides in our formal living room but is missing that perfect piece of artwork to complement the décor. contest criteria: • overall size – art must fit within a 3' x 5' frame • color palate – Soft pastels featuring seafoam, cream, and lavender • medium – We prefer framed canvas, but feel free to be creative utilizing other mixed media materials. The art may be one piece or multiple pieces and may also be three dimensional • Sigma kappa symbolism – references to doves, hearts, or phrases are desired Conceptual design details should be submitted by June 1, 2014. A winner will be selected and a check will be issued by July 1, 2014. The finished art must be delivered to Sigma Kappa by August 30, 2014. The House Corporation will provide additional funding to frame and install the final art piece(s), as well as any shipping costs from your location to the chapter house. A formal dedication of the art will occur during Homecoming weekend. Thank you for your continued support! We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you in September.
