48 NORTH BAY WOMAN | S P R I N G 2 0 1 4 WOMEN IN BUSINESS 2014 Paula Marks Living Assistance Services Visiting Angels Marin, which provides non medical care and living assistance services to individuals who are interested in quality care in the place of their choosing, has welcomed local resident, Paula Marks, into its fold as their new Business Development Coordinator. Paula was born in Toronto, Canada. After obtaining a bachelors degree from Simon Fraser University in the social sciences, she furthered her studies at the Masters level focusing on issues affecting women, as well as working as an Advisor on the Status of Women for the Center for Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy. As a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley she met her future husband, settled in Marin and is raising three children. The passing of her best friend and grandmother was an indelible moment in Paula's life and compelled a passionate redirection of her interests towards assuring the ability of Bay Area seniors to live independently and graciously in the manner of their choosing. Whether lobbying for legislative change to affect the status of women or sourcing untapped real estate marketing niches for Marks Realty Group, Paula's emotional intelligence, experience and creativity allows her to transcend traditional approaches to conducting business to a level that ensures sustainable growth, builds and maintains strong relationships, affords positive leadership and promotes community service.
