24 NORTH BAY WOMAN | S P R I N G 2 0 1 4 By Maila Anderson Photos by Stuart Lirette This spring is all about you. We are in a place in fashion where trends are a thing of the past and anything goes. Now that being said, there are some great things that are popping up this spring that you can add to your wardrobe. Start with color The color of the season is Radiant Orchid which is a color half way between pink and purple. I love to see this color as an accent or a beauty color. It is a wonderful lipstick color. Embrace Pastels – cool blues and yellows or soft pinks and lavenders. White is the new black this spring so go out and rock your little white dress. Add leather to your mix Want to add a little bit of edge to your work wear? Why not a pastel leather jacket or an unexpected leather detail on an otherwise buttoned up look? Nautical is not just for the east coast A navy and white stripe is all you need. A striped dress or skirt is an easy way to add this to your wardrobe. A white lace up sneaker with jeans and a striped shirt for running around on a Saturday is a way to make it casual. Grab that bag The crossbody in every size is this spring's "it" bag. This is an easy way to add that pop of color. It's stylish but functional. A great bag for outdoor fairs and concerts.
