Guidelines
Interested in starting up your
own food truck as a business?
the Cumberland County
health department is the
state agency that licenses
food trucks. Call 910.433.3690
for more details and
guidelines for operating in the
city limits.
• 100 feet from front door
of any restaurant and/or
outdoor dining area
• 50 feet from any mobile food
vending cart location
• 15 feet from any fire hydrant
• 15 feet from any driveway,
sidewalk, utility box or
vault, handi-capped ramp,
building entrance or exit or
emergency call box
• 100 feet from any residential
zoning district
Operational Standards
• No audio amplification
• No free standing signage,
no temporary signs
to include pennants,
streamers, banners,
balloons and flags
• City trash receptacle may
not be used to dispose trash
or waste
• all areas within 15 feet
of the food truck must be
kept clean by the food truck
vendor
• Grease and liquid waste
shall not be disposed in
tree pits, storm drains, the
sanitary sewer system or
public streets
• food trucks are subject to
citywide noise ordinance.
Sound devices may be used
to contain or deflect noise
from external generators
