After all, Paul’s life was totally transformed by Jesus. Through his own personal experience, Paul knew that Jesus was the only Savior and hope for mankind. Having tormented Chris- tians, bringing many to death, Paul understood that the change within his own life, had to be supernatural and real. The life of Paul, as described in the Bible, brings encouragement to ordinary folks. If anyone thinks that they are too sinful to receive God’s love and eternal life, they only need to look at Paul’s life, prior to his conversion. The outstanding thing about Paul was that once he turned to Jesus, his commitment was 100 percent! He knew that a "half- baked" commitment, was not God’s plan, for anyone professing to be a Christian. In a world of instant pudding, fast foods, DSL, and all the other convenient "fast" things available to us, people in our culture often for- get about commitment. Frequently those who do make radical changes, because of their commitment to Christ, are labeled fanatics. That can actually be a compliment, because according to the dictionary, "fanatics simply are persons marked and motivated by a cause." Commitment is also a positive thing, and is described as "a pledge to do – state of being bound emo- tionally or intellectually, to a course of action or to another person or persons." Paul was not one to "water Courtesy photo World Renown Southern Gospel Trio with The Townley Family as their opener, will be in concert at 6:30 p.m. on May 3 at First Church of God, 1005 S. Jackson Street, in Red Bluff. Featured on the Gaither Gospel Series Singing News Magazine and the Southern Gospel Music Association have named Greater Vision Gospel Music’s Favorite trio to numerous honors, including song of the year; album of the year, video of the year and artist of the year. Traveling 200 times every year; their deepest desire is to encourage Christian listeners to share their faith and to cause the listener who is not a believer to see their need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The group has been together since l990 and inspired audiences with their rich vocal blend and their desire to communicate the message of the gospel. They have established a firm place at the pinnacle of Christian music and have become the most rewarded trio in the history of Gospel music. down" truth. Unfortunately many people are hearing a different Gospel today. Jesus is the only One that brings us to God. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6 KJV) Jesus also stated, "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow, and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62 NLT) Once we decide to receive Jesus as our per- sonal Savior and Lord, the power of God enables us to begin living the Christian life, and the power of God keeps us too. "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13 NLT) An old gospel tune gives this message: "Everybody ought to know who Jesus is. He is the Lily of the Val- ley, the Bright and Morning Star, He’s the Fairest of Ten Thousand, and everybody ought to know!" Patricia Martin GodTalk I’m 72 years young, and came to know Jesus at age 25. That’s many years ago now. But, I can truthfully proclaim that – "everybody ought to know Jesus." Why can I declare this, after so many years? Because, when I gave my entire life to Jesus, He reconciled me to God. Jesus made everything right between my Heavenly Father and me. (See Colossians 1:21.) "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12 – NKJ) Since that day, when I repented and turned my life over to Jesus Christ, I’ve been so blessed. There are many struggles in life, but because of Jesus, I’ve had God’s peace and joy, present with me. I sometimes say, "I’ve got joy even when I’m sad." Or, I’ll say, "It’s like I have a strong pillar of granite within me – a strong rock of perma- nent strength." That’s from God, for sure, because in myself I could never say that. Psalm 31:3 says, "For You are my rock and my fortress." (NKJ) Christ is sweet to my soul, The Lily of the Valley – Christ is that Bright Morning Star, even amid dark times in life, and He is the Fairest of Ten Thousand, for no human being is as wonderful as Jesus. He gives sweet aroma into life – He shines everlasting hope into hurting lives – and He alone can manifest the beauty of God into our lives, because He is the fairest of ten thou- sand, and much more! I want everybody to know, that Jesus died on that cruel cross, just for you. You can receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord right now. When you pray with all of your heart, He hears and answers. I can promise you something – Jesus will never turn you away, as you come to Him with a sincere heart, with a decision to follow Him all the days of your life. "…and the one who comes to Me, I will certainly not cast out." (John 6:37 NAS) Jesus Christ is "pure" love and His arms are outstretched to you, even this moment. Ask and receive Him into your heart. He is waiting to turn your life into something beautiful. Patricia Martin is a missionary/evangelist and a Recognized Ministry with the Assemblies of God.
