www.k-state.edu/sigmachi W e've entered into the spring semester at Kansas State and the men of Sigma Chi look forward to completing a solid year of progress. Full House AcHieved I mentioned in the previous newsletter that we signed a pledge class of 24 individuals. I'm happy to announce that we initiated 20 of these young men. This continues our upward trend toward maintaining a full house year after year. RecRuitment RecommendAtions needed We always welcome your suggestions with regard to potential new members. Each semester we have several alumni contact us with potential recruits. This is very helpful toward our recruiting efforts as the competitive playing field for new quality individuals whom are truly interested in Greek life is as tough as ever. If you happen to know someone whom you feel would be a good fit for Sigma Chi, please contact the recruitment chairman whose contact information can be found in this publication. volunteeR options AvAilAble We're looking to replace several positions of our leadership team to allow current members to move on to other endeavors. If you've ever wanted to be a part of the Housing Corporation in the form of treasurer, we have a potential opening in the near future. Serving on the House Corporation is a way to give back to the fraternity that I'm sure served you well during your time at Kansas State. If you are the person, please feel free to contact me at the e-mail address below or give me a call at (785) 776-4912. suppoRting SC The alumni of our chapter have generously responded to our appeals for financial support over the years. I can assure you that your funds will be put to good use as the chapter strives to improve the conditions of the house and promote recruitment and leadership. Please continue to consider us with your annual giving. I remain excited about the potential that our chapter has with all of the committed individuals involved in the process. We have impressive goals that we'd like to achieve in the coming years and it will take a team to see those to fruition. Thank you all for your continued support. We enjoyed meeting each of you and hope you enjoyed your time with us. pHilAntHRopy pRepARAtion The chapter is very excited for Derby Days with the preparation process well underway. We aim to continue our five-year trend of increasing annual donations. This year's proceeds will support the Huntsman Cancer Institute. In sports, the intramural basketball team is looking to replicate the success of our soccer team by making a deep run in the playoffs. neW initiAtes step up Our newly initiated members are actively engaging in house operations by joining internal committees, running for positions, and applying for international fraternity conferences. These young men will be strong leaders for our organization over the next few years. goAls FoR tHe spRing Between efforts towards academic, extracurricular, fraternal, and occupational endeavors, the undergraduate members are experiencing a hectic and challenging spring as we continue our goal to reach the top academic quartile of Kansas State fraternities. We would also like to take a moment to thank Brother larry Fox '74 for his dedication and support of our chapter. Brother Fox has been a huge asset to our chapter through assisting our Quaestor in the financial operations of Delta Upsilon.
