DeltA tAU DeltA Page 2 g reetings! As the newly elected Zeta Sigma president, I am honored to update our alumni on the chapter's great accomplishments and progress of the past few months. Every day we are striving to build on the foundation laid by the great Aggie Delts who came before us. ACADEMICS____________________________ Zeta Sigma excelled academically, earning the Delta Tau Delta Academic Award of Distinction by exceeding the A&M all-men's and all- fraternity averages with a chapter GPA of 3.17. The Beta Upsilon pledge class also performed exceptionally well with a 3.02 combined GPA. PhILAnThRoPy_________________________ Zeta Sigma made a big change this fall by replacing the usual silent auction with Delt Dive, a four- versus-four sand volleyball tournament. Thirty teams competed in the tournament, raising over $2,000 benefiting the Camp for All organization. This spring, Zeta Sigma looks to strengthen ties with the national Delt philanthropy, JDRF. The chapter will provide volunteers for the local JDRF walk, and is exploring the possibility of coordinating a concert to raise juvenile diabetes awareness and donations for the foundation. MEMbERShIP___________________________ Recruitment remains a focus within the chapter, and we continue to reinforce that the men we welcome as potential new members are truly the future of Zeta Sigma. "This recruitment period the Zeta Sigma Chapter of Delta Tau Delta recorded the highest acceptance rate of any fraternity at Texas A&M. This is the second time this feat has been achieved in this school year alone. We believe this a testament to our mission to only recruit men who will be committed to a life of excellence. On behalf of my recruitment team and the rest of Zeta Sigma, I would like to congratulate the 15 new members who have joined our brotherhood this spring semester," Jack Chadderdon '16, recruitment chairman said. This semester we are working closely with Zeta Sigma alumni to revise the new member education program, ensuring they are becoming true Aggie Delts in every sense of the words. EvEnTS________________________________ The fall parent's and alumni weekend was a tremendous success, raising $1,550, which was donated to the College Station Police Department for the purchase of two bullet proof vests and emergency medical supplies. We would like to thank all of the alumni and parents who attended for their support and generosity. Zeta Sigma alumni involvement is at an all time high and we are always looking for new ways to improve the mutually beneficial relationship between our alumni and active chapter. While we work to constantly improve the chapter, we are nothing without the roots and history of our chapter. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
