The iowa sTaTe phi alumni Update Chapter Grand Jack W. Falter 667 entered Chapter Grand on January 7, 2013. As an active member of the Elmhurst community, he was a PTA president, coach, and Scout master. Jack is survived by his wife, Lois, children, Steven and Cynthia, and five grandchildren. Alumni news George R. Colthurst 521 is still farming and in the insurance business. He is married to his Iowa State sweetheart, Margaret, whom he met at a Phi Delt exchange dance in 1947. They have two sons, Ralph and Tom, and one deceased daughter and two deceased twin granddaughters Janet and Joyce. Ralph married in 1975 and has two children, and Tom, who is the youngest, is married and has two daughters. "My Phi Delt Theta experience and my wife were the two best things I got at Iowa State!" Craig W. Shirey 628 moved into a condo in Ainsworth, Iowa, stays active, with an artificial hip for 21 years, and skis for two weeks in Vail, Colorado. "God is good." Scot S. Alexander 1274 resides in Plymouth, Minn., with his wife, Amy, and has four children: Jack 1821, Rachel, Ben, and Sarah. Jack is a member at Iowa Gamma. In addition to ISU visits, they keep busy with volleyball, cross country track and school activities. "We feel blessed to be able to spend some of our summers at our cabin in Wisconsin." Alec Wright 1845 served on Community Development Committee and Jake deHaai 1835 served on Business Relations Committee. Iowa Gamma is also excited to announce that two brothers are getting even more involved next year. The overall general co-director for Dance Marathon 2015 will be Brother Austin Javellana 1818 and the finance director will be Brother Greg Hunt 1853! Over the course of this year, Vice President Steve McCarville 1846 and I are looking forward to the rewards and challenges of serving as the leaders and ambassadors of Iowa Gamma. A major goal of ours is to set Phi Delta Theta as the top fraternity on campus; through our chapter's academics, philanthropies, and campus involvement, we are going to make our mark here at Iowa State University this year.
