Preserving Our Past, Securing Our Future 100 Years at 548 south state OUR PROUD HERITAGE House Dedication November 25, 1913 Theta Theta's Permanent Home Dining room - 1913 Living room - 1913 Although we sat down at 8:00 o'clock in the evening, it was after 2:00 o'clock in the morning before the banquet broke up, and it was 4:00 o'clock before the house was quiet. Sunday was spent in a general inspection of the campus and town by the older members and the absorbing of traditions by the new members, who eagerly listened to the tales the early alumni had to tell of the earlier days. General Fraternity, alumni, and active men feel proud of our chapter at Ann Arbor; for which great things have been done, and from which great things are expected. Excerpt from Theta Theta's Permanent Home by Charles F. Delbrige Theta Theta 1899 (as printed in The Sigma Chi Quarterly Vol. XXXIII, No. 2, February 1914) depicting the 1913 Theta Theta House Dedication. F or nearly 135 years the Theta Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi has been an important part of the University of Michigan. From our founding in 1877 to the present, our proud heritage speaks for itself with academic achievement and leadership on the Michigan campus. While many of our brothers have gone on to successful and distinguished careers in business, engineering, medicine, and countless other endeavors, the common bond of our brotherhood remains. The early training we received through Theta Theta, including leadership skills, organizational skills, social skills, teamwork, and character, has been integral to our personal success. Sig alumni can be proud of the legacy we have helped create and the quality of our chapter that continues today. The Time Is Now Since 1913 our chapter house at 548 South State Street has been a home away from home for hundreds of young men. It has also served as a living and learning center for our members. However, if we wish for Theta Theta Chapter to continue its record of accomplishment, we must complete the renovation of the house and secure the future of Sigma Chi at the University of Michigan.
