Securing Our Legacy at the University of Iowa W e urge your thoughtful consideration of this project. You are the only one who can place a value on your Delta Gamma membership–on the lifelong friendships you made, on the values and principles that were instilled in you, and on the many ways Delta Gamma enhanced your college years. All the sisters who came before us made it possible for us to have the experience we did. Now it is our turn to guarantee future generations of Tau sisters will have the same opportunities that we treasure today. Gift Structure Because of the magnitude of our objectives, we are urging all alumnae to consider major gifts to the campaign. In order for each alumna to maximize her participation, gifts can be structured over a five-year pledge period. However, early gifts to the campaign are preferable to help reduce borrowing costs. Gifts in honor or memory of other Tau or Delta Gamma alumnae, as well as family and pledge class gifts, are welcome and encouraged. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and the honoree. Donor Recognition Each of us, simply by our membership, has contributed to the history of Tau Chapter. How appropriate then that each of our names be entered into its halls. Each donor who contributes $2,500 or more will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque. All donors contributing to the campaign will be recognized in campaign publications, unless otherwise requested. Non-Tax-Deductible Gifts Needed The vast majority of our project has been deemed as non-educational, which means there is a need for contributors that are non-tax deductible to complete the project with minimal debt placed on the chapter. Therefore, all donations will be directed toward the Tau House Corporation. Giving Societies Tau Legacy Society $50,000 and Above Golden Anchor Society $25,000 to $49,999 Founders Society $15,000 to $24,999 Cream Rose Society $10,000 to $14,999 Sisterhood Society $5,000 to $9,999 Hope Society $2,500 to $4,999 Do Good Society $1,000 to $2,499 1873 Society $500 to $999 Do Good for Delta Gamma Y our investment in Tau Chapter will directly impact the lives of our current and future members. Our undergraduate women have made a commitment to work hard in maintaining the programs and traditions that have benefited the lives of so many Delta Gammas over the years. Together with our active members, the volunteer leadership of the Tau House Corporation and the Anchored in Tradition, Securing Our Legacy at the University of Iowa campaign board, we are committed to ensuring we can remain one of the top sororities at the University of Iowa. With your support, Delta Gamma will continue to provide a quality living environment that supports, nurtures, and develops outstanding young women with the skills and confidence to face an ever-changing world. We all benefited greatly from the sisterhood DG provided during our years at Iowa. Now it is our turn to stretch our giving and support the financial challenge associated with this project. Our investment in the future of Tau will ensure the success of our Chapter and will promote a legacy upon which to build an even greater sisterhood. The commitment we make today cannot be underestimated–it will have a far-reaching effect on the lives of our Tau sisters for years to come. "The amazing values and friendships I have gotten from my membership in Delta Gamma are irreplaceable. I could not have joined a better organization or group of women, and I am honored to have this privilege for the rest of my life." – Hope Walgamuth '11
