NU NU NU T he biggest storyline of the 2014 Olympics is the announcement that history is being made as the Nu-lympics are making their prideful entry into the games of 2014. With this year's motto being "Faster. Higher. Stronger," the Nus will make their debut and are ready to challenge their critics. The Nus will enter having already recruited many volunteers who have set their goals high and trained tirelessly. The Mom's Club proves not to be a match for others. They brought the training house to all its glory at Christmastime after embellishing both the inside and outside. Moms provided the extra nourishment needed to finalize the boys' semester and provided scholarly cash to help prevent any wipeouts on the graded downhill skid. Our sincere thanks go to former President Marci Chmielewski, who was instrumental in planning the moments of joy to come during Mom's Weekend in April. Laying the groundwork for entering the Nu-lympics was the relay team from the 2013 executive board. No challenge was too great in scheduling venues, multi-sporting events, and jumps while gathering a depth of talent. No sooner than they felt they were ready for a golden start, the unpredictability of competition began. There were questions from them regarding judging conspiracies, discrimination, abuse of workers, security holes needing patched, exorbitant spending, and visitor's background checks. The opening ceremonies begin. The parade of nations carves its way through the tunnels as our Nu-lympians present themselves as the star attraction! First comes our Nu alumni, the house corporation and advisory boards, singing "One World One Dream," ready to stand behind and up for their younger brothers. Following comes our Nu actives, carrying the flag stating The Truth, The Love, The Honor. This is thrilling; what a start! Is the world ready for us? We know it's what is deep inside us that make us play to win. We will be medalists! And finally to arrive, the Nu pledges, scheduled to compete in every event, ready to break records set previously by Germans, Russians, Frenchmen, Norwegians, etc. Waiting to bring hollering fans to their feet as they show their strength; what a welcome! My heart is racing. The athletes of Nu-lympics are the torches needed to win the gold, the silver, and the bronze. They are the flames that shine, the sparks that fly— uphill. They are the standing proud and ready to accept their missions. They are WINNERS!
