www.co.cumberland.nc.us C Summer Youth Employment Opportunity umberland County Workforce Development Center’s Summer Youth Employment Opportunity helps young adults develop transferable job-ready skills, earn money and acquire valuable work experience. The program will run for six weeks from June 25 through August 6. CUMBERLAND S Participants will work 35 hours a week and be paid the minimum wage of $7.25 per hour. Between 75 and 100 jobs are expected to be available with  The Summer Youth Employment Opportunity is part of an income-based program designed for rising high school juniors or seniors, high school dropouts, high school graduates and post-secondary students up to age 21. Applicants must be Cumberland County residents and meet the program eligibility requirements. Pre-applications are available at the Workforce Development Center, 410 Ray Ave., or at www.co.cumberland.nc.us/work_force.aspx. All information submitted will require supporting documentation. Closing date for applications is April 15. Employers interested in partnering with us provide valuable hands-on work experience to youth. Severe Weather Training The National Weather Service will present a Severe Weather Spotter training program to help participants understand the warning process, recognitions of severe storms and severe weather planning on Thursday, April 7 in the Shaw Auditorium of Fayetteville State University.
