SK Through the Years In April we will celebrate 65 years of Beta Tau sisterhood. Here is just a glimpse of the many memories created. Sigma Kappa 5 Alumnae Weekend Event Success I t has been so much fun meeting sisters and seeing alumnae return to the chapter house over the last year. We love how many people have gotten in touch with us for house tours while they're in town, and we hope to see even more stop by this year. New Alumnae Events Last year, we rolled out a couple new and exciting events for our alumnae. The inaugural alumnae weekend last March was a huge success. Sisters from every decade were present, and some traveled from as far as Alaska! Throughout the weekend, sisters enjoyed taking part in a scavenger hunt around campus, brunch and crafting, and a mini ritual, on top of lots of sisterhood bonding. During football season, we hosted our inaugural Homecoming tailgate. It may not have been a good game, but it's always great catching up with sisters. Save the Date In the next couple of months, we are looking forward to the second annual alumnae weekend to be held April 5-6, celebrating Beta Tau's 65th anniversary. We hope you can join us to make this weekend even more memorable as we honor our alumnae who have been sisters for 25 years or more. Save the date today, and look for invitations in the mail soon. In August, we held formal recruitment and welcomed 60 new members with a Kentucky Derby-themed bid day. Our new sisters had a blast meeting the chapter and had fun taking pictures with our photo wall. CHAPTER EVENTS Big-little reveal was at the end of September and was another great opportunity for sisters to bond with their new sorority families. During family weekend, sisters, families, and alumnae participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Our annual philanthropy, Sigma Shootout, was a great success! Sororities and fraternities played soccer to raise money for Alzheimer's and gerontology research. In November, Beta Tau celebrated Homecoming with the lovely gentleman of Chi Phi Fraternity. INITIATION For fall initiation, we were fortunate to have alumnae attend and participate in our ritual. Directly after initiation, the chapter celebrated Founder's Day at Sweetwater Inn with a brunch. At this event, we had a representative from each initiation class talk about their experience in Sigma Kappa and what it means to them. A LOOK AHEAD We are looking forward to welcoming alumnae home for our 65th anniversary as well as various other events planned this semester. Look for e-mails and invitations to all our exciting events, including the Maine Seacoast event and the second annual alumnae weekend. Don't forget to live one heart one way! In Sigma, Alexia Marchetti '12 Vice President Alumnae Relations
