Phi Kappa Psi n 5 Visit http://ohiodelta.com to stay current with the Chapter. Mike Leymaster '60 and I ventured into the hinterland for a trip to Wilmington, Clinton County (former largest hog-raising county in the world), Ohio, for a visit, tour, and luncheon with Dave Bailey '62. (Can you tell my generation is retired?) We had a great time. Dave gave us a fine tour of the Clinton County area, befitting a former Clinton County commissioner and head of the Community Development Corporation. Congratulations to Gordon Gough '97 who is now the president and CEO of the Ohio Council of Retail Merchants. He succeeds and was hand-picked by the venerable John Mahoney, age 81, who was the longest-serving trade group leader and lobbyist in Ohio. "The Chief kept commitments and stayed loyal." He has the right man for the job! Gordon is, of course, president of The Ohio Delta Company and has done an extremely effective and yeoman job for our Fraternity for many years. Best wishes, Gordon! Again, remember the FKY National Foundation in your gift giving. Gifts to the fund are tax-deductible. While gifts to the general fund are always appreciated, they can be earmarked for Ohio Delta. Fred Hegele '63 and Guy Spriggs '71 serve on the foundation board. The CEO is Ben S. Nicol, Indiana Epsilon '00. He can be reached at the Indianapolis Headquarters at (317) 632-1852. The Ohio Delta Company is on track to once again award about $100,000 in undergraduate scholarships. Dan Grady '12 reports that there are 112 active members and 33 pledges in the Chapter. Of those, 48 live in the houses, 32 in the Chapter House, and 16 in the Honors Lodge. Omega Financial continues to handle billings and collections and all accounts receivables and fines for last semester have been collected—100%. The Chapter is on track to collect 100% again this semester. This continues to be a remarkable report and is a true testament to undergraduate and alumni leadership. What I would have given for Omega Fi when we were undergraduates! I don't know what we would have done with a membership of 145; I guess make National proud if we sent in all the initiation dues. Brothers from this class have remained close, perpetuating the bond formed 65 years ago. Most met their wives at fraternity events, were married upon graduation, were attendants at each other's weddings, and lately have been mourners as some of their brothers have passed on. Dr. L. Bruce Barnes '49 came from North High, married Neila Mueller (OSU Theta), served as an officer in the Army Dental Corps then practiced oral surgery in Middletown where they still live. Their son and grandson are both Ohio Delta brothers. Milton Van Schoik '49 came from University High School, served in the Navy, married Jane Mueller (Neila's sister), and retired as vice- president of Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co. They live in Cincinnati. Robert S. Hamilton '49 came from University High, served in the Navy, married Beth Bennett (OSU Kappa), and became founder and president of Liqui-Box Corp. They live in Upper Arlington. Bob's and Beth's fathers were both Ohio Delta alumni as were many other relatives. Bob recently served as Ohio Delta Company president. Dr. Frank P. Hall '49 came from Gahanna Lincoln, married Priscilla Ward (OSU Theta), was an officer in the Army Dental Corps, then practiced in Columbus and Tucson. Frank is widowed and lives in Upper Arlington. He has served on the Ohio Delta Company board. Wilbur L. Collins '49 came from Bexley High, married Marilyn Meyer, graduated OSU Law, served as a JAG officer in the Air Force, and then became a senior partner in the Taft law firm in Cincinnati, where he lives. David H. Timmons '49 came from Worthington High and married Rachel Buchanan (OSU Theta). He served as an Army officer in Korea then went into commercial construction and development. The couple lives in Upper Arlington. Their son was an Ohio Lambda Phi Psi. Dave spent 58 years on the Ohio Delta Company board and was president several times. These seasoned alumni, through their life stories along with their dedication to the Fraternity and to one another, serve as examples of the enduring value of Phi Psi brotherhood. M Seated: Milton L. Van Schoik; standing from left: Frank P. Hall, Wilbur L. Collins, Robert S. Hamilton, David H. Timmons, and Dr. L.B. Barnes. The Ohio Delta Chapter House was picturesque with holiday decor last winter.
