Quartzsite resident Victoria Pettis turns 100 years old on February 21st, however she and her son, Vernon along with caring friends celebrated early last week when Quartzsite Senior Apartments honored Victoria with a Birthday Party. Victoria was born in Bisbee, North Dakota in 1914. She said she's seen so many changes in the past century. Victoria resided in Quartzsite for the past 6 years. She said she'll be moving to Mesa to "help out my daughter" who has medical is- sues. She has 6 children, but when asked the number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, she said, "Oh, I lost count a long time ago!" She smiled and said a grandchild calls her the "Amazing Grandma!"
