Program at Town Hall Feb. 20 7pm Local organizations benefi t from Quartzsite Community Thrift Store donations By Joanne Winer The Quartzsite Community Thrift Store, at their recent board meeting, voted to donate funds to 7 local organizations this month. The organizations that received checks were the Quartzsite Fire Dept., Quartzsite Food Bank, Quartzsite Public Library, Quartzsite Historical Society (Tyson Stage Stop Museum), Quartzsite Senior Citizens Cen- ter, Isaiah 58 Project, and La Paz County Search and Rescue. The store donated $3000 in total to these groups, bringing the total donated funds back to the community since the store opened in 2011 to $25,000. The mission of the thrift store is to help other organizations in the community who need help with funds to keep their programs going, and who work for the bet- terment of the town. The thrift store is run totally by volunteers, and all funds other than operating costs for the store are donated back to the community. The volunteers and board would like to thank the people in town who donate articles to sell in the store for all their sup- port, and to all the customers who buy the items that help raise this money they use to help others. Donations of items are always welcome--good used clothing, household goods, books, etc. and small furniture and working ap- pliances are always needed. You can bring them to the store during open hours Mondays through Sat- urdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you cannot come during those times, or need items picked up (from yard sales etc.) please call Jini Dill at 928-916-7338. 7 organizations benefit from donations
