It's one of my favorite holidays. It appears everyone likes (or loves) everyone at least for the day. You can hear your neighbor saying, "Happy Valentine's" many times during the day. The meanings may have been lost or commercialized over the years but what remains is a constant feeling of open friendship and a reaching out to one another. Good feelings. Well, I don't have too much to say this in this issue since our 2nd Annual Black & White Dinner actually hap- pened this Saturday, February 15th. I will be reporting on that event and with pictures in the next issue. There will be so many to thank. I would like to mention something so terrifi c going on. We've been attending many of our local towns' Rotary Clubs presenting our programs as our Schol- arships, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a new Interact Club for our High School and other projects. By doing this sev- eral people are coming to our Black & White event from these clubs in Lake Havasu, Parker, Blythe and other visit- ing Rotarians from other states. Do not forget, we have so many of our own year-round or half-time towns- people and visiting snowbirds also at- tending. I am so proud of the interest and involvement by people who really do care and want to help. What came out of this budding friendship stretch- ing over these areas and groups is a new slogan, "People Helping People to help Neighbors Helping Neighbors". Now that's a mouthful but so true. I am always amazed by the true car- ing about others and how that kind of community-based sharing of time and effort can change so much. Our Rotary and I are so thankful for this outreach of humanity to help us and help others. Circle of life, paying it forward, feeling good, are no longer just sayings, in our case they are TRU- ISMS. Thank you all. Rotary Doings
