The tournament consisted of 3 age cat- egories for both men and women. The tournament is sponsored by local VFW Post 769. According to tournament director, Dennis Dole, this year's tournament will again benefi t the community of Quartzsite by close to $3500. Over the past 17 years, the tournament has raised over $73,000 to benefi t local scholar- ships, local youth programs, and the national military of the VFW programs. Each participant receives a t-shirt with a special design which was created this year by Donna Dole. Participants were treated to a BBQ chicken lunch with baked beans, coleslaw and beverages. In addition, numerous local businesses and individuals donated prizes for a drawing which was held prior to the an- nouncement of this year's winners. The winner of the green Masters jacket for women was LeeRaye Christner who shot a 46. She won in a sudden death playoff with runner-up Val Norell. Val was the defending women's cham- pion from last year.
