n Wednesday, March 9, 2011, the Fayetteville- Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce will host ShowBiz from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
“ShowBiz: Surviving and Triving” will be held at the Crown Expo Center located at 1960 Coliseum Drive in Fayetteville. Tis event, presented by the Fayetteville- Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, is free and open to the public and is expected to include over 80 vendors from the Fayetteville-Cumberland County area. ShowBiz is the networking event of the year, with
opportunities to meet local vendors and companies.
“ShowBiz is an interactive and beneficial way for members of our commu- nity to come together to learn about what the businesses of Fayetteville have to offer,” said Douglas Peters, President, and CEO of the Chamber. “Having
over 80 of our area businesses under one roof is quite a benefit for anyone who attends this trade show.”
As Fayetteville’s premier trade show, ShowBiz offers a long list of benefits to every attendee. Among the benefits attendees can expect free discount prescription drug cards, document shredding from 2-4 PM, “Day of Show” discounts, hundreds in doors prizes, a blood drive from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and many giveaways. Additionally, Curtis Wright host of WFNC’s “On the Beat” will be broadcasting his entire show live from the event.

Nominations Being Accepted for the Al Prewitt Economic Visionary Award
oday the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce opened nominations for the prestigious Al Prewitt Economic Vision- ary Award. Te recipient of this honor will receive the award and will
be recognized at the Chamber’s Existing Industry Appreciation Luncheon in May.
Nominees may be an individual or an entity whose extraordinary efforts have resulted in one or more of the following:
Creation of new jobs
· Corporate investment · ·
Expanded production at an existing facility Improved quality of life in the community
Past recipients of the Al Prewitt Economic Visionary Award have been David McCune of McCune Technologies, Keith Allison of SYSTEL, and Michael Green of Cohen and Green Salvage Com- pany.
Te award is open to individuals and entities from across Cumberland Coun- ty. Te nomination must come from a member of the Chamber. Nomina- tions MUST be received by March 18, 2011.
