Zuma Zuma at the Cascade The North State Symphony String Quartet, Kyle Pickett and pianist John Chernoff will join forces to present a special concert of romantic chamber music at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9 at the State Theatre. The program will include works by Schubert, Mendelssohn and Jacques Ibert, and all proceeds will be used to support the State Theatre and its musical programs. The concert will also showcase the theater's new Schimmel grand piano. Carlos Nuñez — Power Packed Celtic Music, Sunday, Feb. 23 Carlos Nuñez has become one of Spain's most recognizable musicians and a major force behind the bagpipes' resurrection in popular music today. Nuñez and his band blast through Celtic/Latin tunes with high energy, precision and style, playing everything from Celtic to Flamenco, as well as Fado, Cuban, Mexican, Brazilian, and classical music. The Manhattan Transfer — Jazz/Pop/Vocal Superstars, Wednesday, Feb. 26 This renowned vocal group made history in 1981, winning Grammys in both the jazz and pop categories.
